Christine Davidson: Bio 1 2
When I'd finished The Trial of Cyrhision, I wanted to write something else— but I felt I couldn't do the same again. If I wrote a similar story, I would simply be visiting these characters and this scenario in another guise, and I didn't want to do that. So I did something rather different.
In fact I had already been beguiled by a character who had appeared to me in Book 3 of the first story. Rowson had popped up literally almost fully formed, and he was clearly not going to follow in his father's footsteps. For a while, I wondered if I was actually capable of writing the kind of adventures he was bound to have! But it was a challenge, and there he was, daring me to try with his cheeky grin and mischievous green eyes.
So I did, and it's been the most enormous fun. I'm about halfway through now, and I'm sure he'll still find ways to surprise me. I am still very fond of my original characters, though, and I did want to write more about them, if not a whole new series. I tried a short story or two, one of which, Roses, you'll find on this site. It's also a part of Rowson's story; Rowson is forever trying to find out what made his parents tick, and in each book he learns some more about them.
So if you have a favourite character in the first series, you will meet them again in the second.
I hope you enjoy what you find on this site. I write first and foremost for my own pleasure, and secondly in the hope that others will enjoy my stories too.
